Umbria is considered the "green heart of Italy". It is home to Perticaia wines. Their wines distinguish themselves as they live up to their name which means plow in the Umbrian dialect. They are true to their land with Trebbiano Spolentino, Grechetto, Montefalco and the fabled Sagrantino. This latter a rediscovered old vine which has the highest concentration of that heart-healthy element found in wine, resveratrol. Perticaia's wines are feted by scoring high in Wine Spectator, Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri and by also being included in the list of Berebene, wines which offer great price and pleasure.
