AZIENDA AGRICOLA GORGO-CUSTOZA (Certified Organic)

Roberta Bricolo is currently at the helm of the family company, founded by her parents in 1975. It was Roberta’s vision, when she picked up the baton from her parents in 2014, to convert all the company’s vineyards to the organic method, an area that currently stands at 53 hectares of certified vines.

“The southeastern part of inland Garda is made up of a fascinating complex of slightly elevated, morainic hills. Here, vineyards alternate with farmland, and what’s left of what was once the forest of the Padana Plains. And here, the Bricolo family have been working for more than 40 years. Among the most esteemed figures in the territory, they divide their attention between Bardolino and Custoza, two typologies that are interpreted with close-focus and grip. The San Michelin really delivered. It’s their historic Custoza, made with grapes ripened to the limit and then aged in steel, making for a nose with intense overtones of flowers and white-fleshed fruit. In the mouth, it changes pace, highlighting good generosity supported by a powerful acidity and a very pleasant zesty taste.”
