"Perticaia's first wines were released in the early 2000's but its relative youth has not prevented the cellar from becoming a benchmark for Montefalco and the entire region. This is hardly surprising, given the personal and professional history of Guido Guardigli, guiding spirit of this beautiful winery at Casale di Montefalco. Surrounded by vineyards on stony sites in good wine country, the holding is divided into parcels, each with its own distinct characteristics. At the winery, intervention is kept to a minimum, the aim being to create wines with impact as well as great finesse. The Perticaia house style shines through as soon as you raise the glass to your lips."

2016 Trebbiano Spoletino IGT/ 2015 2-Bicchieri Rosso Gambero Rosso: A mutation of Trebbiano di Abruzzo.This grape was bought back from near extinction. Only a dozen of vineyards grow this grape from Spoleto to Montefalco. Very aromatic reminiscent of Sauvignon Blanc. Incredibly opulent, this white just keeps giving with every mouth quenching sip.
2016 Umbria Rosso IGT(Sangiovese, Colorino, Merlot): (Unoaked) This wine would be the perfect accompaniment for pizza or pasta in a tomato basil sauce.
2010 Montefalco Rosso Riserva DOC(Sangiovese, Sagrantino, Colorino)/ 2-Bicchieri Gambero Rosso: Ruby with garnet reflections. Bouquet shows mostly red fruits of raspberry. red currants, charred red pepper, thyme and rosemary with a hint of vanilla from the French barrique. Craves your best Bolognese Ragu...Grazie Guido!
2013 Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG/ 2-Bicchieri Rosso Gambero Rosso: Move over Barolos and Brunellos! Sagrantino has arrived. Deep and dark on the nose with baked berry pie, red cut flowers, white pepper, and spice. On the palette very concentrated and pure, fine but assertive tannins. Extremely long finish, tannins kick back in. A very complete and satisfying full-bodied wine. According to Guido, try with a slow cooked leg of lamb with inserted bacon or ham and rosemary leaves. Works really well with your best steak from the BBQ.
